A - Windows
Windows XP/2000/2003/Vista/Seven/2008 is supported.

A.1 - System Requirements

B - Pardus 2009
Installation steps of AKiS package (which includes: a PKCS11 library for AKiS, a tool called AKiA that enables user to change PIN/PUK, explore card features and content) on Pardus 2009 Operating System is described below.

B.1 - System Requirements

- Java Runtime Environment 6 update 14 (or an upper version)
* JRE is a requirement only for AKiA, if you are not going to use this program, it is not needed to install JRE.
- Hardware
- Pentium IV Processor, 512Mb RAM
B.2 - Installation on Pardus 2009
Installations of AKiS on Pardus 2009 can be done by the 2 steps below:
- Before installing the downloaded akia-1.2-1_pardus2009.pisi package, the smart card service which is included in Pardus 2009 OS, should be activated by two commands:
service pcsc_lite start
service pcsc_lite on
- After activating PCSC service, akia-1.2-1_pardus2009.pisi file is double clicked to start installation. Just after double clicking, package manager of PARDUS 2009 will prompt administrator password. After the root password is entered, installation will be completed immediately.
Another way to install akia-1.2-1_pardus2009.pisi is using the console. You must enter the same directory with the pisi file before running the command below:
pisi it akia-1.2-1_pardus2009.pisi
After installation is completed, AKiA shortcut is created under Applications/System in Menu.
C - Pardus 2008
Installation steps of AKiS package (which includes: a PKCS11 library for AKiS, a tool called AKiA that enables user to change PIN/PUK, explore card features and contents) on Pardus 2009 Operating System is described below.

C.2 - Installation on Pardus 2008
Installations of AKiS on Pardus 2008 can be done by the 4 steps below:
- After downloading akia-1.2-1_pardus2008.pisi, if PCSC and CCID services are not installed on your Pardus 2008, you should download them from here:
PCSC and CCID packages must be installed by commands listed below in the directory that the packages are downloaded.
pisi it pcsc-lite-1.4.102-3-1.pisi
pisi it ccid-1.3.8-1-1.pisi

D.1 - System Requirements

* JRE is a requirement only for AKiA, if you are not going to use this program, it is not needed to install JRE.
D.2 - Installation on Other Linux Systems
AKiS installation on Linux Based Operating Systems should be done by root account.
Before installing the downloaded akiaLinuxPaketv1.2.tar.gz package, the smart card service PCSC-lite, and card reader drivers CCID should be installed. After installation, PCSC service is activated by two commands:
service pcsc_lite start
service pcsc_lite on
Now, AKiS package can be installed by the steps below:
- On the console the directory includes “akiaLinuxPaketv1.2.tar.gz” is selected. In this directory
tar -xzvf akiaLinuxPaketv1.2.tar.gz
command is run to extract akiaLinuxPaketv1.2 directory.
- If there exists a previous version of AKiS on your system,
./uninstall.h
command is executed, so previous installation is removed.
- In the akiaLinuxPaketv1.2 directory:
./install.h
command is executed.
- AKiS package is installed and the AKiA shortcut is created under Applications/System in Menu.
